  1. Method of transfecting a mammalian cell in vitro the method comprising: (a) providing a mammalian cell expressing a target gene, wherein the mammalian cell is living and capable of phagocytosis; and (b) exposing the living mammalian cell to a composition comprising an apoptotic cell, the apoptotic cell comprising an antigen and an RNAi molecule, the apoptotic cell being used as a delivery vehicle for the RNAi molecule, the RNAi molecule being capable of down-regulating the target gene in the living mammalian cell, under conditions whereby the apoptotic cell is taken up by the living mammalian cell.
  2. Use of a composition comprising an apoptotic cell, the apoptotic cell comprising an antigen and an RNAi molecule, the apoptotic cell being used as a delivery vehicle for the RNAi molecule, the RNAi molecule being capable of down-regulating the target gene in the living mammalian cell, for carrying out the method of any one of the previous claims in in vitro applications.
